Another Great Bike Safari

There were plenty of wheels turning and smiles to match at this year's Bike Safari, as friends, families, residents, students, volunteers and employees came together for an evening of fun, challenge and support.

Participants tackled the route in all sorts of ways. Standard bikes, adapted bikes, tandems and gliding bikes were all out on the course, while some people chose to walk and others ran alongside to help keep riders going. Around the route, supporters cheered participants on, celebrating every lap completed and every personal achievement along the way.

For many, it was the people around them who made the event special.
"Big, big success! I had a nice time with everyone in the community."

Another participant said:
"I love cycling and I enjoyed that so many people were here to watch!"

Whether taking part for the first time or returning for another year, everyone played their part in making the event such a success. The finish line was filled with congratulations, laughter and stories from the evening, with one participant describing it as:

"An event I am certainly going to remember."

Thanks to the incredible efforts of everyone involved, this year's Bike Safari raised £2,448. Every pound raised will help equip our new Sports and Activity Centre, supporting future opportunities for residents and students to enjoy sport, physical activity and recreation.
